This low-income senior community was completed in October 2005 and is located at 2022 S. Zarzamora. Named after former Congressman Charles A. Gonzalez, it has 60 units with balcony or patio and several community areas that enhance independent senior living.
Every unit complies with the American with Disabilities Act. Amenities include handicapped accessibility, elevator, access gates, five community rooms with activities and laundry room. This senior community was made possible by HUD funding and is the third low income senior housing community established by the Avenida Guadalupe Association. Across the street from the new Dr. Ricardo Romo BiblioTech, the Gonzalez Senior Apartments are located in a freshly developed area of San Antonio’s Westside.
